Well it’s official. I’m out of my funk and focused again. I lost 20 pounds so far on my Ideal Protein-Modified diet, and yes I’m calling it a diet, and I’m OK with that. 20 pounds in 7 weeks. I “might” be within 5-10 pounds of squeezing into the next pant size down (coveted 10’s, followed by lustful 8’s hopefully)
I went to lunch at Applebee’s and am proud to report I made it to 10g Carbs and only 12g Fat with a whopping 35g protein intake, so feeling pretty darn impressed with myself. Turns out the last two weeks I had a Cabernet Mushroom Sirloin which had a “dainty” 39g of carbs in ONE SERVING. I think that might have had something to do with my stall in weight loss.
I learned my lesson though, and am getting the nutritional fact sheets from any and all restaurant I plan on frequenting, including but not limited to Buffalo Wild Wings (whom I love so dearly). My bracelet is jangling away with its newest charm, a motorcycle (to remind me I want to look HAWT for the Sturgis Rally this year) and it’s reviving my hope that I CAN and WILL do this.
Or at Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill. I just got done checking out their nutritional information:
I can have a 7 ounce sirloin, saute’d garlic mushrooms, grilled onions and broccoli as my sides for 10g of carbs and 12g of fat. To me, that is acceptable, since 1 tbsp of butter is like 10g of fat and most “restricted” bars have at least 10g of carbs. Oh, and I get 35g of protein, which is kind of a major bonus for me.
I already had my shake, so there’s 20g of Protein already, and to top it off another 35g just about an hour later. I should really not be hungry until like 7:00 or 8:00 tonight at this rate…
**Update** It’s 5:10PM and I feel like I could eat again…obviously my stomach wasn’t convinced about the protein content of the steak…Oh well, water for me, and tuna patties for dinner tonight, le’ drool for me 😀
Alright, so last week’s experiment was a fail, except I’m not sure if it was because I went out to eat like 4 times or because the way I did my foods didn’t work.
Either way, it’s time to move onto the next theory: I’m calling it “Shake it off!” and it’s because that’s what my protein “packet” replacements will be, my GNC Amp 60 shake mix, up to 3 “servings” (one actual serving) per day, 60g of protein total and 7g of carbs (6g net carbs), plus my 4 cups veggies, one actual meal and oil/salt intake.
Yesterday was day 1, today is the beginning of day 2, and while I didn’t have any weight loss this morning, I am confident tomorrow will show movement one way or another at least. High salt content in the evening is a “no no” because it causes me to retain water.
Alright, so phase II of experimentation continues this week…stay tuned for results.
