Default Steamed Skillet Turnips

My mom shared with me the VERY best recipe for turnips. We had these tonight and I could have eaten my weight in them!

2 turnips
2 tsp olive oil
sea salt to taste
Mrs. Dash garlic and herb seasoning
black pepper

Peel turnips. Cut in half like you would an apple (vertically); then slice the halves into 1/4 inch pieces; then slice those so you have turnips that resemble small french fries. Season and saute in olive oil for a few minutes; then cover (this is the key) and steam until they are tender and sweet. These are the best turnips I have ever tasted! This make enough for two cups for two people if you get good size turnips.
